feeling a tad bit off

have you ever had those weeks where you just feel off? or even just days when you don't feel like yourself? i feel like the past week i have been feeling exactly like that. and i dont like it. im trying to get back into the swing of things. i mean there is so much to be happy about. so to try and feel more positive and happy i have composed a list of things that have made me happy this week.

1. i started officially working at sprinkles! i was training before but now i officially on the schedule.

2. i have gotten to hang out with my new friend kylie twice already. she is adorable and so cute! she recently started blogging as well. 

3. kylie and i have made plans to do a bake entry once week that we will both feature on our blogs.

4. i watched love actually last night. well most of it...i was playing "words with friends" at the same time so it became a little distracting.

5. i started my healthy diet. i have been doing really well on it and have already lost 2.2 pounds. i am so excited!

6. i found a half marathon that i am thinking about training for. if you know me, you know that i hate running. i kind of want to do it so that i can just say that i ran a half marathon once in my life.

7. the half marathon I'm considering running takes place in disneyland. its the tinkerbell half marathon.

8. i am loving being healthy. 

9. i have been fast food free for three days and my body feels great.

10. the other night at work we had extra cupcakes leftover that were mess-ups from the new people being trained as frosters the other day. i got to take home thirty-three. they're all in my freezer don't worry.

well i am now a twenty-two year old

and that feels really weird to say. i literally feel like it was yesterday that i turned twenty-one and went to my birthday dinner at old chicago with my friends. i can tell you right now that i will probably be saying the same thing next year too.

it just feels so weird to me. i feel old. haha. that sounds so ridiculous but i really feel like im ... well that im old! im sure all of you people who are older than me are thinking "she is so absolutely nuts for thinking that." buttt thats just how i feel. im sure in a few days ill feel a little better about it.

anyways, this year i put together a list of things i want to accomplish and goals i have set for myself to achieve before i turn twenty three. i have three hundred sixty three days to do everything i came up with. its always nice to write your goals list down so that you can look back and be reminded of it.

being twenty-two list:

1. workout at least two times a week.

2. attend a yoga class at least one time a week.

3. be more frugal with my money by not eating out as much.

4. get to my ideal weight and maintain a healthy body image.

5. make sure i write at least four blogs a week.

6. find cupcake recipes to make that i love.

7. start developing my wedding planning business.

8. become a supervisor at sprinkles.

9. learn to love myself more so someone else can love me too.

10. learn more about fashion and the designer world.

11. pay off all my debt.

12. start a missions where i make one random person smile everyday

 and keep track of it in my blog

13. buy myself a macbook.

14. start saving up for a new car.

15. make new and more friends.

16. really push myself to go out and do new things.

17. start doing more DIY projects.

18. take more pictures.

19. really, truly take care of myself.

20. find more positives among the negatives.

21. better myself by learning to let go and be more patient with 

people and situations.

22. become more well-rounded by becoming more knowledgeable about current

events and different events in history.

23. start getting my nails done (part of taking care of myself)

i always feel better with pretty nails!

24. start school.

25. volunteer somewhere.

26. write letters to people.

27. smile more.

28. go see some movies by myself. do more things by myself in general.

29. keep in touch with my family more.

30. buy a canon rebel xs.

31. go to nyc

hopefully i can do all these things !! wish me luck. 

also to everyone who thought of me and took the time to wish me a happy birthday, i just want to say thank you very much. i am blessed to have each and everyone of you in my life. thank you.

what am i most excited about in my moving adventure ??

well...that is SUCH a hard question to answer. to be quite honest, there are too many things i am excited about. i cant just pick one.  lets start by me saying: moving to a new place, city, state, country can be terrifying in and of itself BUT i have been looking for jobs and apartments non-stop the past two weeks and doing any and all research that i can so i am so ready once i get there.  tonight i was hoping to stumble along a arizona blog of some sort. one that is like somewhat like mine or one that i have hope mine can be like someday.  i wanted to find a blog somewhat like "the rockstar diaries" because I love how she writes hers and I love what its about.  It doesn't have a fashion focus, or a "heres how to be a great mom" focus...its just her life and what she does everyday and the things that she enjoys. very simple.

anyways, i wanted to find an arizona blog like that (or at least a phoenix based one) AND I COULDNT ! do you know what this means? either a) I used very poor google searching skills (highly doubtful because i somehow can end up finding anything and everything) or b) there REALLY just is no blog like that.  EITHER WAY...i couldn't find one and this means that i, kaileigh elizabeth, will just have to be the first one to create a blog like this for arizona. i am SO excited.  this will give me a little more focus in this blog because instead of strongly disliking the place i currently reside, i can post pictures of myself actually going out and doing things and sharing that with you in a place i can call home that i LOVE.

enough about that though...after giving up my search, i decided to look up some things that i am so excited to do when i get there in two weeks. of course, i will have to get settled in and find a job before i can actually start going out and doing things (money will be tight for a little while).  but, i did find some things to do that i am just so seriously, incredibly, highly anticipating !

1. sprinkles cupcakes : there is a sprinkles in scottsdale !! hello cupcakes. hello heaven. okay okay so i have yet to try sprinkles (i did try magnolias and crumbs) but i am very excited to do so.

2. RA sushi : have any of you eaten here? this place is delicious. i went here two years ago with my best friend in the entire world jaemi botero and my other best friend sara rodriguez when we went to California. We ate at the RA in huntington beach. So DELICIOUS !

3. as seen in "the rockstar diaries", she and her husband go on a hunt around dc for the best burger. HELLO i love hamburgers ! "the grind" won "best burger" this year for arizona best so you can bet ill definitely be trying this place.  i dont want to copy her idea of hamburgers so i am going to go on a hunt for the best...something. what it is, i dont know yet. but im going to go on a hunt of some sort.

4. there are about 2039482039 shopping centers. need i say more ?

5. i get to paint my own apartment. its overwhelming the amount of possibilities there are for wall colors. ill make sure to post pictures when i do.

6. two pools at the complex i am going to rent from (cross your fingers !) ...as i said about the shopping centers...need i say more ?

7. new job. new life. new friends. new adventures. new city. new state. new everything. i cant wait. new new new. this seriously will be the time for me to show people the real me. they will get to know me for me and not based off what they have heard from someone else because i dont know anyone.

8. music venues...gah i cant wait for the endless options of shows to go see.

9. as i was saying before with a "hunt for the best hamburger", apparenty "the main ingredient" has the best hot dogs. i love hot dogs. i know theyre for some and not for others but im really excited to tree these.

10. the main street art walk : all i know is its in mesa and it sounds neat !! why not go try it right?

11 the scottsdale art festival : i love any and all things art (paintings, theater, etc.) so i think this is right up my alley.

12. indie craft festival: diy and vintage...what else is there to say. anyone who knows me knows i love crafts. i also REALLY adore vintage too.

anyways theres not much right there...only twelve things. but i must be going to bed. ill show you other things im excited about tomorrow. i hope everyone has had a fabulous start to their week.

dear 2011, what have i been doing?

well to answer that...there's been a whole lot i've been doing i feel like. but then again, most of the time i feel like i have been doing a whole lot of nothing. at least i can say that i have two jobs now again. i work at the daycare center during the day and on the weekends (sometimes weekdays) i work at the bistro downtown.

i just got moved over to the bistro (main street bistro that is!) for weekends and can i just tell you my life has instantly become so much better? i am so happy over there! i love every single person i work with and i get to dress more of my style. im not saying that wearing cocktail dresses every weekend wasn't my style...that was fun. at bistro though, i get to play around with what im wearing a little more and i get to be more casual. so if you're ever out and about come see me :]

as for whats new...well i'll make a list !

1. my best friend sabra moved in with me for the month. that has been so much fun.

2. i think i may go visit vegas in april for my birthday.

3. i have watched season 1-3 of its always sunny in philadelphia and i am currently saving up to get seasons 5 and 6.

4. i still don't have a boyfriend but what else is new.

5. i have only received 5 parking tickets in 2011!

6. i worked out once this year. this sounds like nothing BUT for me...its a big deal.

7. i may have figured out what i will be doing with myself next year.

8. i finally starting thinking seriously about what i want to do with my life...i think i finally figured it out.

9. thats really all i can think of :]

anyways. whats new with everyone else? is everyone sticking to their resolutions? i'll be honest...i haven't stuck with mine at all. :/ buttttt tomorrow is always a new day which is why im going to start being healthy tomorrow! im so excited to feel good inside and out, physically and mentally. Being healthy will really help me with that. my cousin annie gave me some great advice on eating well so i can have a better body, a healthier body, and i can feel one hundred percent more confident. i can't wait to start. now i just gotta stick to it.

sickly little monday

im sitting here at my mom's being sickly, little me :[ i think i have a really bad cold or a sinus infection. sometimes though, my allergies make me feel like this so in hopes of being not contagious, lets chalk it up to that! my pictures from new jersey aren't loading either :[ such a sad day. i wish i had a macbook again, but hopefully within the next month ill be getting one. after all this complaining though, i feel like i should make a list of the positives of why today is still a good day!

1. i got all my laundry done last night (yay for beautiful, clean clothes)!!

2. im going to get arrested development season 2 today i believe.

3. i can go home and watch "how to train your dragon"

4. i found a parking lot where i can park for $3 ALL DAY!

5. its almost halloween which means theres LOTS and LOTS of candy.

6. im going to ironically tell you that im very determined to be healthy (right after telling you how much i love candy !)

7. its soup weather outside. 

8. i have soup in my cupboards.

9. im going to get a kitten sometime this week.

here's a little list of everything thats new with me since its been almost a month without updating anyone on  anything !

1. i got a studio apartment downtown :) its adorable and i love it. i need to get all my stuff moved in but being me and being a procrastinator this is just not going as fast as i want it to.

2. i bought home alone the other day. i already had it but it was scratched from watching it too many times so i bought a new one.

3. im going to new jersey on thursday until tuesday to visit family for my grandpa's birthday. we're spreading his ashes in the ocean (don't tell anyone!), and then going to dinner. i'm really excited and happy to see my family (even given the circumstances). hopefully i can squeeze in a little day trip to new york city :)

4. i love, love, love my best friend cricky.

5. im meeting with one of my bosses to come up with a business plan for my cupcake shop on wednesday.

6. im buying a macbook (and making payments hello of course) when i get back from new jersey!

7. zooey deschanel is my favorite ever.

8. i still love sex and the city.

9. i quit my job at the daycare and so now i am a cocktail waitress full time and i still work at anthropologie.

so there you have it.

thats all thats new (amongst random other things i can't think of right now)

well. to be quite honest i wasn't sure what i wanted to write about today. i have spent the past twenty minutes trying to figure out what i wanted to say and i couldn't come up with anything. im not in one of those moods where i am automatically ready to just write, write, write BUT maybe once i get going i won't be able to stop. at least i'm hoping this is what happens.

i guess i figured the easiest way to choose something to write about, is to think of things i love that are easy to talk about. perfect plan, right?! RIGHT :) so here i am...sharing a little with you, all of the things i would love to add to my wardrobe.  on some pieces i will write what i love about them. others, not so much. i think some of these pieces speak for themselves. so here we go!

now...i hardly, rarely, ever...okay never, shop at DELIAS.  but to be quite honest they have RATHER CUTE things. so these next few are from delias.

this dress is so adorable. how could anyone not fall in love with it? it'd be perfect with a cute red pair of flats or a pair of cowboy boots.  i already have the cowboy boots in my closet. now i need to go find the perfect red flats.  if you love this dress too, i'll make it easier for you to find it. tada :) as for the shoes i have shown here...they're not exactly the ones i'd pick out for this dress. i was thinking more of a mary-jane type. at least you can see though how a red shoe would be absolutely lovely with this!

awh yes...my favorite store ANTHROPOLOGIE !!! i didn't even tell you i work there now! its the best job i have ever had. i've been working there since march of this year and i love it with all my heart. we will talk more about that in upcoming entries though. 

for some reason it won't let me put any of the pieces i will be spending my entire next paycheck on here. i'm really disappointed because they were so cute. on a positive note: at least i got to put the link in there so you can go look at whatever pieces YOU choose! but lets see, maybe i can describe a few. there was a loose, white, embroidered top. also, a pink, strapless dress that had white polka dots (hello minnie mouse!); accompanied by yellow shoes and you've got the perfect disney minnie mouse!

moving onto NORDSTROM'S which always has CUTE apparel ... can you say hello lover! to these beautiful sandals. i'd match these with anything really.

oh how i love the fall season. what i don't understand is why the weather is supposed to reach 100 degrees again this week! i am so ready for fall weather. i am so ready for the 60's and 70's, breezes blowing, leaves changing, the feel of fall. oh i can't wait because guess what is after fall? CHRISTMAS! my favorite holiday and season of the year. holiday season that is.

my favorite season is autumn season though.

i love absolutely everything about fall. i can't wait to be in fort collins when the trees turn from green to yellow, orange, and red. i can't wait for rain. i can't wait the entire feel of it all.

Fences - $140 million dollars could get me...

today one of my best friend's katie and i were talking about winning the lottery. she wrote me this elaborate five page text about what she would do if she won, so i said i would make a list of all the things i would do if i won the lottery. where i live i have seen the lottery be $140 million dollars before. so for my list i will do it based on if i won $140 million dollars.

With $140 million dollars i would:
1. buy my mom a new house, myself a loft in new york city, la, seattle, denver, and a house in boise.
2. buy my big sister a loft in seattle, new york city, and denver.
3. get my big sister's boyfriend signed to a record label.
4. buy my mom, big sister, dani, aunt skye, grandma, jaime, madeline, and myself new cars.
5. pay off my debt, my mom's debt, and my aunt skye's debt.
6. buy unlimited lifetime passes to disneyland and disneyworld.
7. oh i would also buy a place in london and paris.
8. maybe buy myself an airplane.
9. give $25 million dollars to a charity.
10. go shopping.
11. buy a zoo.

So I sat on UrbanOutfitters.com today to look at all the things that I love and want. I thought I would just share a few of them with you. I'm going to have to save my money for a while to be able to get them but I think all of these are very Kaileigh.

I love these cameras. I have been looking for a new one anyways and I really would love to get more into photography. Once I do I'll make sure to post photographs that I take on here. I think there is something so beautiful about capturing a moment inside of a picture. So I'll see what I can do and come up with. :)



I also love the Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz glasses. How cute are those? Those are two of my favorite movies. I actually need to go buy Wizard of Oz on dvd. I have Alice in Wonderland though.

The mint bag definitely reminds me of Mary-Kate Olsen circa 2003. She had a mint colored bag that I loved and so I definitely think I will get the mint color so I can break out of my black and white colored bag rhythm I seem to have gotten in the past few years. I think a colored handbag works wonders on an outfit, especially if you dress somewhat plain. It is just a bold statement that says "Hello! Here I am!" I love it :)



I really want the record player too. I love the colors of the box and how it looks vintage. I love records. I can't wait to get some vinyl of my own. I will feel even more like Ally from "The Notebook." "I'll Be Seeing You" by Billie Holliday, is a record I will need to make sure to get. It is my favorite song in the entire world. This record player is $160 though. Hello Christmas list!

The curtains I'm going to hang up in my room in Colorado. I move in October, hopefully the first week of October. I couldn't be anymore excited...I'll write about that later though. My room doesn't have a door however because its more of an office. It has a large opening, so I'm just going to hang up curtains to make it a room. So cute :) These cream colored ruffled ones I will hang up for sure and then I will make sure to get another set (one that's more plain or maybe something with a pattern so it doesn't detract too much from the pretty rufffles) to go underneath, or well on top depending on which side of the curtains you're on.

Too Young - Lovely Days

The past few days have been very busy. I went back to work and was very stressed at first but now I think things are going back to the way they were and I am very much happy and comfortable with that.

I have to go to my cousin's bridal shower in about five minutes but first I wanted to write 10 reasons why today is a good day so far even though its only 1:42 in the afternoon.

10 Reasons Today is Lovely

1. I watched Boy in the Striped Pajamas which was a very good movie and just as good as the book.
2. I am wearing a cute outfit and the heels I am wearing are not uncomfortable or awkward to walk in.
3. I never wear heels but I am starting to really like them because of today.
4. I got to see my little sister's best friend who I consider my little sister as well.
5. I did something new to my hair and put some braids in it.
6. Its a cloudy day and I hope it rains. I love rain.
7. Its overcast 75-80 degree weather. Perfect.
8. Apple jacks make for the best cereal ever.
9. I saw my favorite uncle Jeff and helped him to feel better.
10. I got to talk to my bestie in Colorado who is also my twin Madeline.
