Lisztomania - books books books

Good morning little world! As I sit here today I am trying to think about some more of the things I love that make me happy and make me smile. Things that give me something to think about and things that make me well... think! For now I think I'm going to write about:

1. a good book: I love a good book to get lost in. I would consider myself an eclectic reader. I don't necessarily stick to one genre or another. I like to bounce around and mix it up.

Lately I have been reading more than I ever use to. I recently finished reading "I Love You Beth Cooper" by Larry Doyle and "God Shaped Hole" by Tiffanie DeBartolo.

"I Love You Beth Cooper" was a quick read. It was laugh out loud funny and not really meant for kids. Haha. I would recommend it to someone needing cheered up and/or someone with a good sense of humor. It feeds into every highschool stereotype but makes it hilarious. It kind of reminds me of the movie Superbad because it's about a highschool nerd whose somewhat of an outcast who is trying to get the popular highschool girl and it takes place over the course of one day. But I liked it. :) It's not a book that gives you much to think about though.

"God Shaped Hole" has now been added to my list of favorite books. Tiffanie DeBartolo's other book "How To Kill A Rockstar" is on that list as well. The way the character's are created and given such life and the way they become so real to one while reading really helps you to connect with the book. I started it on a plane ride from Seattle to Newark and was 20 pages shy of finishing it. I don't think I have ever picked up a book and not been able to set it down. She uses so many references to music to create relationships between people and I love that.

When reading a book I always go through and underline things that have stuck out to me, or things that I can relate to. For example, in the second chapter she writes "I always felt like that myself, that I didn't marry into the landscape of the human world like others did, that I was on the outside looking in." I love that and I feel as though I can completely relate to it. I think her writing really speaks to me as a reader and I absolutely crave books like this in which I can take part of it with me after its done.

My List of Favorite Books: (not in any particular order mind you)
1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.
2. How To Kill A Rockstar by Tiffanie DeBartolo.
3. God Shaped Hole by Tiffanie DeBartolo.
4. Harry Potter by JK Rowling.
5. Junie B. Jones by Barbara Park
6. New Moon by Stephenie Meyer.
7. Peter and the Starcatchers by David Barry & Ridley Pearson.

Yes I put New Moon on there...but I swear I'm not a crazed fan. It has taken me almost a year to get through the series and I haven't started Eclipse yet. It's not that I don't love them like everyone else...it's just that there are other things I want to read in the meantime. Eclipse is next though. Not to offend any Edward fans but I am very
TEAM JACOB. Mmm.

I love being recommended books so if anyone has any books they love that they want to share with other people or myself please do tell!
