falling asleep to pictures of cute things

im so very tired today. i haven't been sleeping whatsoever. i owe this to the fact that i have been sick for the past week and a half. swine flu maybe? im guessing so. but im getting better so thats a plus...anyways i haven't been much a sleeper the past few years. its just hard for me to get into the really deep sleep where hardly anything wakes you up. the kind where you're sleeping so soundly that if a fire alarm were to go off you probably would be stuck inside because you don't hear it go off. haha. so hopefully tonight i can get a little better night's sleep. i took some sleeping medicine so cross your fingers im not a hopeless [and sleepless] case!

anyways as i was playing on here just now i came across the cutest website:
this is the one of the most adorable things i've seen. it just makes me want a kitty so badly!!!

welll im off to bed. im about to fall asleep with the computer open and i would rather turn on "the corpse bride" and finish watching that :] night lovely dearests! here are some cute things to look at.

excuse me evening

i don't know what to write about today. and i don't really know what to say.
its just one of those moods where you want to curl up with a nice, soft, amazing blanket, with a nice cup of coffee or tea, and watch the notebook or read a book with old jazz on. i would have to say my music of choice would be that of billie holiday.

with that being said...i will leave you with my favorite song in the world:

"i'll be seeing you" by billie holiday.

I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day through.

In that small cafe;
The park across the way;
The children's carousel;
The chestnut trees;
The wishin' well.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

The best love is

the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds.
-noal calhoun

noah calhoon says it best in the notebook. this movie will always be my number one favorite movie. i love it. i want to marry someone just like noah because i think of myself to be just like allie. one of my closest friends said i am just like her. goodness. this movie just envelops everything i believe about love.

one time i thought i found my noah. after a year and a half he turned out to be no such thing. far from it. and so everytime i watch this now, my hope continues to grow that my noah, my real, actual noah, is somewhere out though. he is waiting for me to come along.

he is going to come up to me and ask me to dance. sing me "ill be seeing you" by billie holiday. and forever he will have captured me to be his forever and ever.

oh i cannot wait. :)

rome - pictures to replace the words

i think today can only be expressed in pictures. pictures that may not even represent what im feeling. some, yes. some, i just love. so im going to add a few. some are quotes. some are photographs. i hope you feel something when you look at them. to put it plainly: at some point in time i will have felt, will feel, or am feeling all of these emotions and feelings stirred up in these pictures. i know that even though im not feeling like some of these at the moment, that i once did feel the way some of these depict.
i really hope to feel that again too. and i know i will. someday.

i know those last few sentences are repetitive. but sometimes things just need to be reitterated.

at some point in time i will have felt, will feel, or am feeling all of these emotions and feelings stirred up in these pictures.

enjoy your day!

countdown - three weeks without a word

oh my heavens.
its been almost 3 weeks since i have written. ive been so terribly busy and i didnt make any time to write. sorry! :/ unfortunately im sick today. i went to work all day, pushed through, and worked an entire eight hour shift. tomorrow i have to be there at seven. ill probably head home early though. im not feeling well at all.

but on a positive note...it allowed me to read peter and the shadow thieves. i have hardly had time to sit down and read lately. ive missed it so much. tomorrow ill finish this book though and then finish impulse by ellen hopkins. after that i plan on finishing identical and tricks by ellen hopkins as well.

there are so many books i need to buy and to read."sense and sensibility and sea monsters" is on my list of books to read. as well as "pride and prejudice and zombies." both look so good!
i have never read any of jane austen's books but i've heard these are very good and since i work at barnes&noble i feel its my civil duty as a bookseller (especially one who runs the kids/teens department) to read up on books so i can recommend them.

plus i just love a good read.
especially falling asleep reading.

i also would like to read alice in wonderland. i love that movie so much.
in fact im going to design my cupcake shop with a theme such as that.

on a parting note ill leave you with this insanely amazing remix video of alice in wonderland i found. you will want to watch it over and over. i love it! goodnight world :]

i hope your day was lovely.

ps have you read any good reads lately?

Fences - $140 million dollars could get me...

today one of my best friend's katie and i were talking about winning the lottery. she wrote me this elaborate five page text about what she would do if she won, so i said i would make a list of all the things i would do if i won the lottery. where i live i have seen the lottery be $140 million dollars before. so for my list i will do it based on if i won $140 million dollars.

With $140 million dollars i would:
1. buy my mom a new house, myself a loft in new york city, la, seattle, denver, and a house in boise.
2. buy my big sister a loft in seattle, new york city, and denver.
3. get my big sister's boyfriend signed to a record label.
4. buy my mom, big sister, dani, aunt skye, grandma, jaime, madeline, and myself new cars.
5. pay off my debt, my mom's debt, and my aunt skye's debt.
6. buy unlimited lifetime passes to disneyland and disneyworld.
7. oh i would also buy a place in london and paris.
8. maybe buy myself an airplane.
9. give $25 million dollars to a charity.
10. go shopping.
11. buy a zoo.
12. start a cupcake shop.
13. open a book store.
14. open my wedding planning business.
15. start a fashion line.
16. there's too many options.

Lasso - just some things i want...you know.

So I sat on UrbanOutfitters.com today to look at all the things that I love and want. I thought I would just share a few of them with you. I'm going to have to save my money for a while to be able to get them but I think all of these are very Kaileigh.

I love these cameras. I have been looking for a new one anyways and I really would love to get more into photography. Once I do I'll make sure to post photographs that I take on here. I think there is something so beautiful about capturing a moment inside of a picture. So I'll see what I can do and come up with. :)

I also love the Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz glasses. How cute are those? Those are two of my favorite movies. I actually need to go buy Wizard of Oz on dvd. I have Alice in Wonderland though.

The mint bag definitely reminds me of Mary-Kate Olsen circa 2003. She had a mint colored bag that I loved and so I definitely think I will get the mint color so I can break out of my black and white colored bag rhythm I seem to have gotten in the past few years. I think a colored handbag works wonders on an outfit, especially if you dress somewhat plain. It is just a bold statement that says "Hello! Here I am!" I love it :)

I really want the record player too. I love the colors of the box and how it looks vintage. I love records. I can't wait to get some vinyl of my own. I will feel even more like Ally from "The Notebook." "I'll Be Seeing You" by Billie Holliday, is a record I will need to make sure to get. It is my favorite song in the entire world. This record player is $160 though. Hello Christmas list!

The curtains I'm going to hang up in my room in Colorado. I move in October, hopefully the first week of October. I couldn't be anymore excited...I'll write about that later though. My room doesn't have a door however because its more of an office. It has a large opening, so I'm just going to hang up curtains to make it a room. So cute :) These cream colored ruffled ones I will hang up for sure and then I will make sure to get another set (one that's more plain or maybe something with a pattern so it doesn't detract too much from the pretty rufffles) to go underneath, or well on top depending on which side of the curtains you're on.

Anyways here is everything else I want!

Click here to go to urban outfitters to check any of these out.

Too Young - Lovely Days

The past few days have been very busy. I went back to work and was very stressed at first but now I think things are going back to the way they were and I am very much happy and comfortable with that.

I have to go to my cousin's bridal shower in about five minutes but first I wanted to write 10 reasons why today is a good day so far even though its only 1:42 in the afternoon.

10 Reasons Today is Lovely

1. I watched Boy in the Striped Pajamas which was a very good movie and just as good as the book.
2. I am wearing a cute outfit and the heels I am wearing are not uncomfortable or awkward to walk in.
3. I never wear heels but I am starting to really like them because of today.
4. I got to see my little sister's best friend who I consider my little sister as well.
5. I did something new to my hair and put some braids in it.
6. Its a cloudy day and I hope it rains. I love rain.
7. Its overcast 75-80 degree weather. Perfect.
8. Apple jacks make for the best cereal ever.
9. I saw my favorite uncle Jeff and helped him to feel better.
10. I got to talk to my bestie in Colorado who is also my twin Madeline.

What's your list of why your day is lovely?

Long Distance Call - Morning Porches

Good morning world :)

Today I was sitting here drinking my coffee and I was thinking to myself how badly I want to someday have a porch on my house that I can just go outside and drink my coffee and watch the sun come up, read a book, or paint. I would love to just go outside with a coffee cup in hand, blanket wrapped around me, and just sit on a comfy chair outside. I don't think there would be any better way to wake up then to watch the world wake up too.

It could be a patio porch that is attached to a city loft, or it could be a front porch that wraps around the entire house with a big yard somewhat like in the movie The Notebook. I haven't decided which I'd like more...just as long as I have a patio to do this on. It could even come off the apartment in which I live. I just want to be able to do this someday.

Lisztomania - books books books

Good morning little world! As I sit here today I am trying to think about some more of the things I love that make me happy and make me smile. Things that give me something to think about and things that make me well... think! For now I think I'm going to write about:

1. a good book: I love a good book to get lost in. I would consider myself an eclectic reader. I don't necessarily stick to one genre or another. I like to bounce around and mix it up.

Lately I have been reading more than I ever use to. I recently finished reading "I Love You Beth Cooper" by Larry Doyle and "God Shaped Hole" by Tiffanie DeBartolo.

"I Love You Beth Cooper" was a quick read. It was laugh out loud funny and not really meant for kids. Haha. I would recommend it to someone needing cheered up and/or someone with a good sense of humor. It feeds into every highschool stereotype but makes it hilarious. It kind of reminds me of the movie Superbad because it's about a highschool nerd whose somewhat of an outcast who is trying to get the popular highschool girl and it takes place over the course of one day. But I liked it. :) It's not a book that gives you much to think about though.

"God Shaped Hole" has now been added to my list of favorite books. Tiffanie DeBartolo's other book "How To Kill A Rockstar" is on that list as well. The way the character's are created and given such life and the way they become so real to one while reading really helps you to connect with the book. I started it on a plane ride from Seattle to Newark and was 20 pages shy of finishing it. I don't think I have ever picked up a book and not been able to set it down. She uses so many references to music to create relationships between people and I love that.

When reading a book I always go through and underline things that have stuck out to me, or things that I can relate to. For example, in the second chapter she writes "I always felt like that myself, that I didn't marry into the landscape of the human world like others did, that I was on the outside looking in." I love that and I feel as though I can completely relate to it. I think her writing really speaks to me as a reader and I absolutely crave books like this in which I can take part of it with me after its done.

My List of Favorite Books: (not in any particular order mind you)
1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.
2. How To Kill A Rockstar by Tiffanie DeBartolo.
3. God Shaped Hole by Tiffanie DeBartolo.
4. Harry Potter by JK Rowling.
5. Junie B. Jones by Barbara Park
6. New Moon by Stephenie Meyer.
7. Peter and the Starcatchers by David Barry & Ridley Pearson.

Yes I put New Moon on there...but I swear I'm not a crazed fan. It has taken me almost a year to get through the series and I haven't started Eclipse yet. It's not that I don't love them like everyone else...it's just that there are other things I want to read in the meantime. Eclipse is next though. Not to offend any Edward fans but I am very
TEAM JACOB. Mmm.

I love being recommended books so if anyone has any books they love that they want to share with other people or myself please do tell!

--------------------------------------------------

March 28, 2011

since i have written this blog, not too much has changed. im almost two years older then when it first began, but i still am positive, bubbly, and trying to make people smile everyday.  In exactly seven days, i will be moving to tempe, arizona to begin a new life and start a new adventure. im not sure where this adventure will take me but i am so ready to experience something new and do something bold. so i am going to do just that.  nothing else has been new with me besides that really. i have yet to fall in love again. i have stayed in boise. i have had a few different jobs. i quit barnes and noble, and worked at my moms daycare center where i taught preschool/kindergarten. i worked downtown as a cocktail waitress. also, i am more confident and feel better about myself, and i have made a lot of new friends. for all of those experiences i am thankful for but like i said...i am so ready to get out of here and actually start my life. so here's to a new chapter :)
