last day of being twenty-two

i cant even believe it.  where has this past year gone? i seriously cannot tell you. ill be spending my last hour and ten minutes of it enjoying it to the fullest.  ive got a glass of wine and lovely tunes to keep me busy.

feeling a tad bit off

have you ever had those weeks where you just feel off? or even just days when you don't feel like yourself? i feel like the past week i have been feeling exactly like that. and i dont like it. im trying to get back into the swing of things. i mean there is so much to be happy about. so to try and feel more positive and happy i have composed a list of things that have made me happy this week.

1. i started officially working at sprinkles! i was training before but now i officially on the schedule.

2. i have gotten to hang out with my new friend kylie twice already. she is adorable and so cute! she recently started blogging as well. 

3. kylie and i have made plans to do a bake entry once week that we will both feature on our blogs.

4. i watched love actually last night. well most of it...i was playing "words with friends" at the same time so it became a little distracting.

5. i started my healthy diet. i have been doing really well on it and have already lost 2.2 pounds. i am so excited!

6. i found a half marathon that i am thinking about training for. if you know me, you know that i hate running. i kind of want to do it so that i can just say that i ran a half marathon once in my life.

7. the half marathon I'm considering running takes place in disneyland. its the tinkerbell half marathon.

8. i am loving being healthy. 

9. i have been fast food free for three days and my body feels great.

10. the other night at work we had extra cupcakes leftover that were mess-ups from the new people being trained as frosters the other day. i got to take home thirty-three. they're all in my freezer don't worry.

birthday post

here are a few pictures from my fabulous birthday. i only have a few to post but it was such a great day.

i woke up and got coffee and a cupcake with my amazing friend jake. we got me a cute red candle to go with my birthday cupcake (a peanut butter chocolate chip cupcake), and jake's cupcake (cinnamon sugar). did you know at dutch bros they give you a free drink for your birthday? ANYTHING YOU WANT. it was great!

after this i dropped jake off at his house, and came back and wrote that plethora of posts to update everyone on my life here. then, brynne and i ventured to california pizza kitchen and ate some dinner. to walk off some of our food, we walked around tempe marketplace where we ventured inside of an art gallery. we then went to the store and purchase some drinks and a shirt for that night. at about 830 we headed back over to jake's house and the festivities began. it was so much fun. my best friend from boise, jaemi, was even there. she is the one who is moving in with me next week down here. oh and to make my night even better...i got to wear my minnie mouse ears.

sprinkles sprinkles sprinkles sprinkles sprinkles

besides the fact that i have now eaten about four or five sprinkles cupcakes, i have something so very amazing that i want to share with you, but pictures first :) in these photos you will see a peanut butter chip cupcake, a red velvet cupcake, a vanilla cupcake with milk chocolate frosting, a strawberry cupcake (made with fresh strawberry puree), and a chocolate marshmallow cupcake. i ate the peanut butter chip one and the chocolate marshmallow ones. NOT ALL ON THE SAME DAY don't worry :)

just a little sprinkles lesson for you, you, and most of all you: 

sprinkles is the first cupcake bakery that basically started the cupcake revolution (as i like to call it). they use all natural ingredients, no preservatives, and it just makes everything taste that much better. you can also feel a little better eating the amazing delicatessens as well because you know that you're not putting anything processed into your body. all of these cupcakes are made each day, and its really neat because the leftover cupcakes at sprinkles at the end of the day are donated to homeless shelters, police stations, fire stations, etc., in order to give back to the community. isn't that neat? it always makes me feel better with each bite knowing all of that.

also the most popular cupcake at sprinkles is a red velvet. the second most popular: black and white :) my personal favorite for right now however is the chocolate marshmallow. for those of you who don't like a lot of frosting i would recommend that one or the cinnamon sugar. the cinnamon sugar cupcake is a cinnamon cupcake. after its baked they brush the top with butter and roll it in cinnamon sugar. the chocolate marshmallow cupcake is a dark chocolate cake with sprinkles' homemade marshmallow filling. its topped with a chocolate ganache (instead of a cream cheese or buttercream frosting). THEY'RE AMAZING. anyways, they're opening a new store in new york city in may and the most recent one to open up was in washington dc. you can visit they're website or download they're cute little app for your iphone or whatever else you can download it for, to see all the flavors they have and they're locations.

alright so here are the pictures :) enjoy! oh also, the one picture of the dad and the son...how cute is that? they came in together and bought a cupcake and they shared it outside. sorry if you didn't want your photo taken mister father and son, but it was such a cute, precious moment that i just HAD to capture it.

dear little cupcakes, you tiny pieces of heaven

this past weekend my best friend sabra's boyfriend went to new york city...just because he felt like it. jeeze wouldn't that be nice? :) anyways i told him that he MUST get a cupcake at magnolia's and a cupcake from crumb's bakeshop. i told him that magnolia's on bleeker street was a must however because the two magnolia's locations are somewhat different tasting AND the whole experience is different too. seeing as though (and im pretty sure im correct on this) that almost every crumb's taste the same, i didn't tell him which crumb's specifically he should go to.

anyways not only did he go to magnolia's on his first night there...he brought back cupcakes from both places for sabra and i. i am so excited and ecstatic! it was seriously so kind. i have been missing new york city so much lately, so i feel like this little slice of my favorite place on the planet was exactly what i needed to tide me over until summer.

i shared one of the peanut butter one's from crumb's with sabra.  this happened when i went to go pick mine out this afternoon. we couldn't figure out some of the random flavor's james (her boyfriend) had picked out so of course...we smelled tested them. i smelled peanut butter and chocolate mixed together on the one we shared, so we HAD to eat it right then and there :) confession: these cupcakes did turn out somewhat better than mine, but do keep in mind these bakeries have had YEARS and YEARS of cupcake concocting perfection!

now as you can see below, there are many, many, many pictures taken of me with these cupcakes. "WHY DIDNT YOU JUST TAKE ONE OR TWO AND CALL IT A DAY?" you ask. well, the answer to this is that i am somewhat of a perfectionist. i also have a difficult time making little decisions sometimes(...okay a lot of times) so i couldn't just pick one THUS RESULTING in me including (for your viewing and laughing benefit) basically every single picture i tried to take and make just perfect. YOU'RE WELCOME. :)

cupcaking evening

in addition to getting kingston last night, christine and i also got ingredients to make cupcakes. we made chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting. i got the recipe from the martha stewart cupcake cookbook i have but of course, there are some adjustments to be made to it. ill be trying a different chocolate cupcake recipe next time and seeing which i like better.

before i made them i was a little nervous that they wouldn't turn out how i wanted but as i started putting everything together i started to just become happier and happier. i focused a lot on the frosting because i wanted it to look perfect. im going to have to adjust that recipe a teency bit though and also play with different ways of frosting the cupcake. im not one to just spread it around however i want it. i like it nice and neat and cute!

after i baked them,  let them cool, and frosted them, i wrapped them up and made a cute note for it so that i could deliver it to my friends sabra, nicol, jace, and bardi. i really hope they do like them!!! i asked for their honest opinions so we shall see. if anyone ever wants cupcakes i'd be more than happy to make them for you.

persuasive cupcakes

today a friend of mine had his sister make me cupcakes. chocolate cupakes with an oreo buttercream frosting. so delicious! now im sure that he did this out of the kindness of his heart but lets be real here...i think the real reason is because he just wants to steal my best friend, cricky, away from me for a day. she and i are attached at the hip, but if anything can persuade me...its definitely a delicious set of cupcakes. 

so dear ryan,

you are more than welcome to steal miss cricky for the day. im giving you full permission right now. these cupcakes made my day and i will allow you to spend the day with  my best friend. just let me know when though so i can plan accordingly. thank you friend :]
