someone please give me this area to live in. how amazing is everything in here? i swear this will be my new york city apartment someday.

helloooooooo SUNSHINE

work has been keeping me OH SO BUSY lately so sadly...i haven't put up a new entry everyday like i've been wanting to. the fact that my macbook has completely died on me is another big reason too! i really need to run that thing into the mac store so they can see what's wrong with it. it would be AMAZING to be able to have a new macbook but at the same time...it'd be so much cheaper to just get it completely fixed.
so i guess we will see whats wrong with it and go from there!

the sun is so gorgeous out today! its 100 degrees out though! YIKES! AY YI YI! HOLY MOLEE! thank goodness idaho is not known for its humidity (considering we're a desert) or we would be completely donezo since humidity not only makes it feel even hotter out than it is...but then you get sticky too.

no thanks!

i wish i could go lay out at the pool right now though. my cousin annie is here from denver! she has such a cute blog as well. it's all about inserting positivity into her day to day life and finding something that made her happy. plus she does photography and so sometimes she will put little bits of her work on there. i highly recommend checking her out HERE !

i don't have any cute pictures from today but if i get a chance to take some later i will put up what my day was like :]

but for now i leave you with these :

factory girl

because i was sick yesterday, and because i am sick today, i have gotten to watch some movies that i love. however, i decided to try a new one i'd never seen before (big thank you to netflix). i had chosen the movie "factory girl" starring sienna miller, hayden christensen, and guy pearce. i had heard about this movie before, unfortunately, i had just never gotten around to watching it. i am so happy i got to watch it though! it was amazing. so amazing in fact that i am watching it again today.

i didn't really know anything about edie sedgwick before i watched this movie but after watching it, i wanted to read more and more about her. edie sedgwick is such an interesting person that its no wonder why andy warhol was so intrigued by her. this girl had experienced some of the most terrible things yet she still followed her heart to get what she wanted. sadly, it wasn't such a happy ending for her...but just learning more about her, her effects on fashion and art...its simply incredible.

she saw andy warhol for what he was and for what he wanted to be seen as. she showed people that you have to look beyond the art you see in front of you. you have to see the person behind it. the character and personality behind it is what makes it so interesting. with her ability to see things in this way it only added to her beauty. andy warhol saw this and helped her become his "superstar." this in the end making edie sedgwick become such a style muse.

i highly recommend watching "factory girl" to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. it is such a good movie :]

if loving fashion is a crime, i plead guilty

well. to be quite honest i wasn't sure what i wanted to write about today. i have spent the past twenty minutes trying to figure out what i wanted to say and i couldn't come up with anything. im not in one of those moods where i am automatically ready to just write, write, write BUT maybe once i get going i won't be able to stop. at least i'm hoping this is what happens.

i guess i figured the easiest way to choose something to write about, is to think of things i love that are easy to talk about. perfect plan, right?! RIGHT :) so here i am...sharing a little with you, all of the things i would love to add to my wardrobe.  on some pieces i will write what i love about them. others, not so much. i think some of these pieces speak for themselves. so here we go!

now...i hardly, rarely, ever...okay never, shop at DELIAS.  but to be quite honest they have RATHER CUTE things. so these next few are from delias.

this dress is so adorable. how could anyone not fall in love with it? it'd be perfect with a cute red pair of flats or a pair of cowboy boots.  i already have the cowboy boots in my closet. now i need to go find the perfect red flats.  if you love this dress too, i'll make it easier for you to find it. tada :) as for the shoes i have shown here...they're not exactly the ones i'd pick out for this dress. i was thinking more of a mary-jane type. at least you can see though how a red shoe would be absolutely lovely with this!

awh yes...my favorite store ANTHROPOLOGIE !!! i didn't even tell you i work there now! its the best job i have ever had. i've been working there since march of this year and i love it with all my heart. we will talk more about that in upcoming entries though.

for some reason it won't let me put any of the pieces i will be spending my entire next paycheck on here. i'm really disappointed because they were so cute. on a positive note: at least i got to put the link in there so you can go look at whatever pieces YOU choose! but lets see, maybe i can describe a few. there was a loose, white, embroidered top. also, a pink, strapless dress that had white polka dots (hello minnie mouse!); accompanied by yellow shoes and you've got the perfect disney minnie mouse!

moving onto NORDSTROM'S which always has CUTE apparel ... can you say hello lover! to these beautiful sandals. i'd match these with anything really.
this top is from modcloth! i feel like this shoe would look amazing paired with a top like this:

now for a bunch of randoms that i love!

i dont have time to make them all perfect with links to each site so if you have any questions just ask me! i will try to figure out where each is from for you! its just that i have to try to fall asleep within the next fifteen minutes because i have to get up at 6 am! and trust me...i've been needing lots of sleep lately. i hope everyone has a beautiful morning, day, evening (whenever you're reading this!).

xoox.

ps what pieces are you most excited to add to your summer wardrobe? and where do you like to shop at?!

new york state of mind

oh my goodness!!! so badly i am craving new york city right now. i will have you know that the big apple is the only place that holds my heart. i could live there and be happy for the rest of my life. if ever a place were to so perfectly describe me it would be NEW YORK CITY! its busy, lively, happy, amazing, eclectic, crazy, mixed up. it holds all the possibilities in the world and welcomes any type of person with open arms. it is THEE perfect place.

there are so many things to do there. one of the things i love most is because if you tried to do everything there is to do in one day, you couldn't because there is something new to do every single day! it could be a new restaurant opening, an event at the park, a market, flower shopping, book signing, movie opening, even just a quick walk around all the blocks you live by its the perfect place. it doesn't matter. there are new faces, new places, and new, exciting possibilities and opportunities that arise to help you PARTICIPATE IN LIFE.

so many people say "well i don't know that i could live there. why would you want to? all the people, all the traffic, the cars, the noise. i could visit but that'd be enough for me."  I DONT UNDERSTAND! why? every time i leave new york city i am always, one hundred percent, without a doubt, yearning for more. ill be living there some day. don't you worry your pretty little faces...its calling my name. its just a matter of time now and i cannot wait for it.

ps. city of my dreams ill be visiting you in august or september. start your countdown now new york city because i have a got a date to see you and all of your wonderfulness.

pss. i took all of these pictures on my last visit to the city in august 2009

love to love the sound of music

so many things i love about listening to music. so many bands to love. so many types. so many amazing qualities.

what is it about music?! it can put you in a mood to be motivated, lazy, excited! it sometimes makes me want to just get right off the couch and dance my little heart out. lately i have been listening to a lot of:

1. the counting crows.
2. kings of leon (forever and always DUH!)
3. country (anything country!)
4. cocorosie
5. coconut records
6. bon iver.
7. jack johnson
8. she & him

its mostly all put into the indie/alternative genre (except for country which is obviously a genre in and of itself) but i guess im just in an indie, free spirit mood lately. something about jack johnson just does wonders for the mind. if anyone wants to feel RELAXED and LAIDBACK, i highly recommend turning on some jack johsnon, painting a picture, doing some form of art, or even if you just feel in the mood for a large dose of ACOUSTIC AMAZING MUSIC. :)

Also for the person who'd like to feel relaxed...bon iver, damien rice, & iron and wine, make for an amazing mix while taking a bath with a glass of wine or two or three. ;)

what artists are you listening to lately? i'd love to hear what everyone is gravitating towards or even what music puts you in a certain mood!

typical ... stereoptypical

Question...why is it that when women come along a good looking, nice, wonderful guy who could be nothing but good for us, we automatically either start to pick them apart or think they are gay?! I've been wondering this to myself the past few days and I guess the only answer I could come up with is that stereotyping has gotten the better of us! As a friend of mine (whose name shall not be mentioned) and I were laying in his bed, he put on Disney music. Yes...literal songs from Disney movies including (but not limited to) Tarzan, Lion King, and Beauty and the Beast. I sat there wondering...how could this cute boy who looks so masculine ever love Disney in a way that I do?! I thought I was the only one to love Disney in such a way that a Sunday morning would drive you to envelop yourself in the soundtracks to many Disney movies. Either we are GREAT for each other, or this boy MUST like other men, be gay, and being trying to hide it! Is there such a thing as inbetween? I suppose a METRO man would be the term or correct usage for this guy. Is it possible to love things this way, yet be straight at the same time?

Do not worry if this is you reading this and considering that I may be possibly writing about you. I DO NOT in any way, shape, or form think that you are gay! Maybe the real question isn't "why do we stereotype lovely men like you to be gay"? Maybe the real question is...why don't more guys become MEN and admit they like CHILDLIKE things?! Please someone explain this to me! Confidence is key my dear men. KEY! So if you like a romantic movie (please say its "The Notebook"), or if you have a love for Disney, or baby animals, or anything cute-like, and/or somewhat childlike & girly...ADMIT IT! trust me ... this will not be looked over.

Honestly, all girls appreciate a little HONESTY :] even if for the second we resort to considering stereotypical thoughts that enter our minds...if you prove to use otherwise, you will earn a lot more RESPECT and LOVIN from us :)
