last day of being twenty-two

i cant even believe it.  where has this past year gone? i seriously cannot tell you. ill be spending my last hour and ten minutes of it enjoying it to the fullest.  ive got a glass of wine and lovely tunes to keep me busy.

happy birthday baby gavin

one of my best friends, rachel, has a son named gavin who is just the cutest little boy to ever walk (oops crawl) this planet. i call him my little nephew and i am his auntie kail. yesterday, he had his first birthday party! it was so darling and so fun.  rachel did such a tremendous job with all the homemade decorations and little yummy treats.  she is seriously such a wonderful mother, and one of the most beautiful too.  here are just a few of the photos i snapped to make sure we always remembered this very special occasion. congratulations rachel and andrew on a beautiful baby boy who is becoming such a handsome little man as he grows up.

black&white

does anyone else think that black and white photos are absolutely stunning? its like the photos may be lacking color, but they bring out so many other qualities in the photo you may not see if there was color. here's some black and white photographs of some celebrities from my board on pinterest.

EEP my birthday...

as you may know, i am a big, huge, ginormous fan of birthdays, especially my own. i mean, who doesn't like their birthday? sure, there are quite possibly some mister grumpy gills out there who are just negative nancy's and dont like their birthday...but me? NO WAY! its the best day of the year besides christmas! one day that is all about you? YES AND PLEASE!

my birthday is in thirteen days !! APRIL19th to be exact. i am REALLY hoping this birthday can top last years. last years was my favorite birthday of my life.  i have absolutely no idea what i am going to do for it though. nothing too extravagant. i think dinner with some friends, and going out after may be in order? we shall see, and you can bet i will be keeping everyone posted.

im not even quite sure what i want for my birthday this year. is there an age where you're just too old to receive presents? i obviously do not think so.  im thinking i need to put a wishlist together.  be on the lookout for one soon.

if you have any ideas for birthday party ideas let me know. id love to have some input.

who hasn't written about this?

seriously though, who has not written about their obsession with pinterest. or at least their love for it. mine may lean towards more of an addiction. ill be the first to admit it! but that's the first step isn't it? admitting the problem? except that i don't think its that much of a problem.

today, i have decided to go through all of my clothes and figure out what i want and do not want. i have so much to get rid of and its going to feel so good once my wardrobe is cleansed! how does pinterest come into play with this? well, ive created this dream wardrobe on pinterest. a lot of my clothes i don't even love anymore. why keep things, why clutter your space, why even clutter your mind with things you do not love? its a simple question! and the answer is ... there is no reason to do so. im so excited to finally just have pieces of clothing that i just love and start filling it with articles of clothing that i absolutely adore.

my mom calls me a bit of a clothes hoarder, and id quite like to agree. so today, im going to face my hoarding problem head on! ill be selling my clothes to my little sisters (no i won't make my little sisters pay for them...just my mom) but i need the money! im helping her out because shes not paying full price for some great items, and she's helping me out because i really need a small bit of income right now. yay!

new friends//new fun

i spent a majority of february making new friends and spending time with my dear loves that i can never get enough of.  can i just tell you it was so fun?  i got to go on a few dates which were fantastic and got to know people who were wonderful as well. cheers to friends :)

-candy because i obviously LOVE candy. there were so many choices! i was so overwhelmed! eep!

-coffee with one of my best friends christine. we call her cricky. she is lovely. that day we enjoyed tea at rembrandts coffee house, which is my favorite place in all of boise quite possibly.

-rachel won bunko so she obviously had to wear the crazy hat at bunko night with all the daycare ladies! we have that once a month.

-most delicious glass of wine ever courtesy of sterling at the restaurant he works at (R&R Public House). the food there is delicious! such great salads, grilled asparagus, spicy tomato soup, and hamburgers. their beer and wine selection is amazing as well. mmm!

-mimosas and breakfast also courtesy of sterling at goldy's.  we went with his friend jared who, i may add, looks like he could be mario lopez' little brother. goldy's is this cute little breakfast place in downtown boise. i love it. the inside of the place is amazing.

-i made dinner for sterling one night (in the next four pictures). I made cappelini pomodoro all by myself. It was delicious, but i could have used a smidge more garlic. such a fun night!

all in all, I love making new friends and meeting new people. the end.

life according to my iphone lately

baby gavin !! (thats one of my best friend's rachel's son). he is SO adorable its unbelievable. he will be one in two weeks. i can't believe how fast time has gone by this year and im not even his mom! i must say that i am a very proud auntie though.

also i have pictures of myself with my little sister addison. she is adopted from china. she is so cute and smart. we went to a hockey game with my dad that night (he's in one of the pictures as well). at the hockey game we decided to have a little sisterly photoshoot. there were about a billion more pictures of just us but i love the ones i put up the most.

then there is baby lyla.

at last but not least, my small weekend getaway to utah. my cousin annie and i went to this little luncheon lodge place while everyone else went sledding. we were just too cold to be outside!

the art of teaching preschool

okay, so there is definitely an art to teaching preschool.  im not sure the secret on how to be a great preschool teacher, but all i know is that i love it and my kids loved my class too! i love the little kiddies and i absolutely adore teaching. here's a little insight into the wonderful days i had teaching preschool!

in some of the first photos you can see that there are some art projects that we did! there is also a birthday wall too that has foxes all over it.  why foxes? well because...i named my classroom "the fabulous foxes" of course. as for the art projects, that week was "m" week and so we made monsters, mustaches, and mardi gras m's. so cute! they had so much fun making them :)

also, ive included my favorite little baby in the entire daycare in these photos. her name is lyla. she is one year old and my goodness is she the cutest thing i have EVER seen. she is just so darling!
